To what do you owe Reason's success?
Reason is a dog who I am VERY closely bonded to. I would do anything for him, and he will do ANYTHING for me. He gives everything I teach him all that he has, and sometimes more than he has which has lead us to many injuries. We have high level of trust in our relationship.

Were there any difficulties/challenges to overcome?
There were many!
Reason is a fearful dog so we have worked on that since day one and still continue to work on it to this day. He is also not to fond of other dogs, but he has made leaps and bounds on this with lots of training and treats. He has had MANY injuries in his life, including a broken shoulder, a broken foot, broken teeth, many muscle sprains and strains, and now a partially torn crucite ligament.

What is His favorite thing?
I would LOVE to say me, but I believe I am second to FOOD.

What has been the greatest thrill of his career
There have been many for us , getting top am staff in obedience for the yr 2004 was the biggest thrill I remember , but it happened as the pit bull ban for Ontario was going through so this may be why it was so important to me at the time.

What would people be the most surprised to learn about Reason?
That Reason is a fearful dog, and dog aggressive. I have put so much training into him that he is a very well behaved dog in public, and people have no idea there are underlying problems. I ensure to keep Reason safe and if I feel for a second he is not ok with what is going on I will remove him from the situation, this is HUGE with our trust in each other , he trusts I will not put him into stuff he cannot handle and I don't.

What are your future plans?
Not sure as of now , I am thinking he will be in surgery pretty soon , and the recovery for it is quite long, so nothing in the near future.

Do you have any tips for training and trialing an Amstaff?
Get out there and DO IT! The breed is a fantastic working dog if you train them right, I use a blend of treats and corrections for my training methods, treat them when they do the right stuff, correct the wrong stuff and help them do it right. Do not make excuses for behaviors because it is a "breed trait" Just train them to do what you want instead. Have patience, some dogs take more time than others, keep training short and fun, when they are having a blast doing what you ask -- QUIT -- don't wait till they are done and they quit on you .
